Leroy Anderson was a American composer who composed in the modern era. Leroy Anderson was known for writing "Light Concert pieces," classical pieces intended to be easy to listen to and appealing to a wide variety of audiences. In an attempt to write music that was more accessible to everyone, he even wrote a piece for Typewriter and Orchestra! The famous movie composer John Williams said Leroy Anderson was “one of the great American masters of light orchestral music.”
